How It All Started
Blake and Jordan began a hobby together that quickly grew into a passion learning the science and art of roasting coffee. After two years of bringing their small batch coffee to markets and local shelves, they asked Ryan to join in their coffee roasting venture. Together, we are one thread of the Chattanooga community and just one, small part of the greater coffee loving community as a whole which we love and strive to see it flourish. Our desire is to bring out the best in your cup of coffee and take care in the roles we play: craft grounded in dedication and affection rooted in commitment.

Quick, disposable consumerism and short-term gains are the legacy of most work done today, we aim to play a small part in changing that mindset. Protagonist is dedicated to bringing a passion and devotion to the work of roasting coffee. Our desire is to cast a shared vision in our community: pursuing excellence in our labor, alongside neighbors, to collectively grow a region’s future which has more left to it than just efficiency and easy profit.
We want to see the coffee scene in our community flourish, and hope that we can play a role in it.
