Fill your kettle with water and bring to temperature. Bringing the water to just before the boil is ideal. Next, place filter in the Kalita Wave and flush with hot water.
2.
Weigh
Weigh out 25 grams of your coffee beans. We recommend investing in one of these scales for this, but if you don’t have one, it should be about 1/3 cup of coffee beans.
3.
Grind
Grind your coffee to something that’s slightly coarser sea salt. This will probably be the coarsest setting on your grinder. Next, place the ground coffee into the Kalita Wave. Tare the scale and gently shake the Kalita to flatten the bed.
4.
Bloom
Start your timer and pour 50 grams of water into your grounds bed to bloom your coffee, let the coffee bloom for 45 seconds.
5.
Pour
Pour in slow, small concentric circles to a total of 200 grams. Continue adding water slowly as the water drops, for a total of 400 grams. Add all the water between the 3:00-3:15 mark. The final brew time should be between 3:45-4:00.
